the fun in coding a game in qbasic (if you can call driving your self insane in trying to avoid memory problems fun) is the handicap you are working under. although one of the main driving forces to make qb games was to top the best at the time and show of your work, but now days with the assimilati...

for now most code should work would out to much of a problem in FB , but as of FB.17 CVS version you will most likely need to use the -lang QB command line parameter to make the compiler backwords compatible with old code. as for the IDE thing use what ever you want FBIDE is nice but there are alot ...

microevolution and macroevolution are the same things really. it just a scaling issue. you get to see the process at work on virus in a reasonable period of time simple because of the less complex nature. human , animals are much more complex so it take millions of years to see any real evolution th...

theologically christianity is a mess , logically its a mess. but this is besides the point the original post was about proving evolution. personally by this point i would be willing to say evolution is a theorem because of the insane about of evidence that points to this being true. but in the end t...

good luck with that project mystik but in the end you might be limited to how far you can go back. and it be very fractured. for example all the stuff at qb45.com is pretty much gone so all the great stuff from the days of future soft are gone. the old Enhanced creation Board is also gone so all tha...

Allegro was great back in the days of DOS game programing. but its win32 port is pretty much on par with SDL so when compared to something like YAGL it simple falls short.. really YAGL and other GL based 2d blitter libs are really the fastest things out there. so i would stick with YAGL. its powerfu...

no Z!re is right being impressed by some super fast QB bliting routine is simple pathetic it like being impress by watching some 5 year old playing hockey or some other kids sport. it interesting to see but it's by no means impressive. i mean even back in the day this wouldn't have been truly impres...

well if you give up on trying to get qb to run in win2k (you really have to play around with the setting to get qb to run under 2k) you could try dosbox or simple give up on QB like the rest of us have and use Freebasic www.freebasic.net. but if you one of those QB necromancers that are determined t...

really i think what Z!re hinting at is why not simple port your game to Freebasic and use a real Gaming lib like SDL, Allegro , or if you want FBgfx lib.

if your using gosub ick then you might run into a stack error there. function / subs you really shouldn't run into a stack error unless you have some kind of recursion error. i.e. calling a the same function in a loop with in that function in which it can never be resolved or runs out of stack space...
