New Moderator: burger2227

Hey everyone, there's a new mod in town! burger2227, our most active user over the past few years (he's almost surpassed me in total number of posts) is now a moderator, so if you see any funny stuff going on in this forum, he's the guy to talk to. :) And in case you don't remember, our other mods a...

Hey guys... This spam/phishing problem seems to be widespread through PHPBB forums all over the Internet, and I haven't found a way to prevent it yet. If anyone has heard of a solution, please send me an email. (pberg1@gmail.com) If the problem persists and I can't figure out a way to block the spam...

It appears like every user on the forum got it. I have banned this IP and deleted the account. Hopefully it doesn't happen again. I installed an Anti-Spam suite for this forum a while ago and up to this point, it had been nearly flawless at blocking spambots. Only human spammers were able to post an...

Hahaha...you have to live where the game studios are in order to be a beta tester. A lot of game studios are based in LA (EA, Activision, as well as all of the ones made at film stuidos...etc.) I'm not sure where else you'll find beta testing work, but I would guess there's a lot of game companies i...

You're talking about being a "beta tester" for videogames. It's actually not that fun or glamorous. I have a few friends that do it out here in Los Angeles (one of them works on Guitar Hero). Basically, you replay the same level or area, hundreds of times and try to break the game. Your job is to lo...

Microsoft isn't trying to kill QB / DOS, there's just no market for it anymore. Why develop backwards compatibility if only a handful of users are gonna ever use it? They have much bigger fish to fry...like building a good web browser for instance.

I believe Angelo Mottola might have actually recoded Wetspot 2 in C a few years ago...or maybe he was making another sequel in C. I remember he had a website called EC++ (Enhanced Creations ++) a while back with all of his projects on it, but it seems to be gone now.

The look of the title bar and scroll bar aren't something you control with HTML / CSS -- they are determined by the user's browser software (and will vary from browser to browser).

As for the Favicon, that's easy! Here's a tutorial:

Looks good! I'm glad QB64 was able to run the code so well.

Is there an alternative to using the DRAW command for your text? There must be a more compatible and speedier way to achieve that effect.

Forum spam issues

Many of you may have noticed that there has been a lot of spam posted on this forum recently by spambots. I went through and deleted all of the posts and spam users, and I just installed several PHPBB mods that will hopefully take care of the issue. I'm not sure if it will work yet (we'll wait and s...

Yikes, long time, no updates

Hey everyone! Sorry about the radio silence in updates as of late. I can't believe I haven't updated since October. I'm hoping to release that long lost issue of QB Express in the next week or so. It's pretty clear now that I'm never going to get it back to a monthly / bimonthly release schedule, bu...
