Darkdread wrote great tutorials on this very subject. They are basically the staple of this type of thing. Also, tilex is a pretty OK tutorial for beginners. Both can be found in the tutorials section.

Try looking at some tutorials written by Darkdread on this site. They could help. Also, what size are your tiles? 16 by 16?

You seem to be worried about some restrictions that are on QB. You should check out FreeBASIC - QB only 32 bit, for Windows, and no limitations that restricted QB, like program space, graphics, and memory. Check out www.freebasic.net for more info.

It's simple. Lets say X=2, and Y=4. IF X = 2 THEN PRINT "This will show up because X is two" ELSEIF Y=4 THEN PRINT "This would show up if X did not equal 2." ELSE PRINT "If neither X=2 nor Y=4 then this will appear" END IF Basically, it checks if a condition is true, such as if X = 4, if MyString$ =...

Computer acronyms

Take a computer acronym, and change it.

For example:

DOS
Disk Operated Shit

LCD
Lazy Crystal Dead-pixels

Please post your student.txt and please tell me the line number. I see nothing wrong with your code right now.

Subscript out of Range is a terrible error; it can mean way to many things. It just doesn't make sense. Stupid microshit.

Hey guys, I think we were a bit too rough on Jason. Yes, I agree, the post is about homework. However, he's not asking us to do the homework, he's just asking for a little help to fix it up. He also posted a pretty nice program so we can see that he's well ahead on doing the homework. Give the kid ...

Fascinating how the most educated nations in the world are also the ones with the least crime, and how those same nations are inhabited by rational people. I hate to say it, but America is an educated country. Why arn't you being rational? You are educated -- you're a great programmer. I don't beli...

Sorry guys. I suck at life. No. Wrong. You have the biggest, best (my opinion), and longest-running QB magazine ever. Your doing a great job, but your life is getting in the way. No one can help that. School, work, family -- that should all come first. QB:XP is great, but if it's getting in the way...

Yes, I have an idea.

Use the RBG() function, and find a converter for the hex to RBG.

http://www.kenjikojima.com/java/RGBHexConverter2.html

The above seems so work. If you need more, just google "hex color rbg converter."
