After 2 months with on-board, I finally got a new video card

I finally got a new video card for my PC, as two months ago my old one fryed. A good ol' GeForce 5500GT it was, with 128 megabytes of memory. Not great, but free. Then, as I was plugging in my MP3 player in the USB port, around my surge protecter, my elbow bumped the switch just enough for it to tur...

Pete... I was about to go to bed then I though "I'll wait another hour and if by some off-chance QBXP is out, I will stay up as late as it takes to read it." And here I am, and hour later. Perfect timing. I read two sentances in the description before posting this, and I keep making a ton of typos b...

Z!re:

While I was writing my reply, I was asking myself why freebasic didn't do that on its own during compilation.

Thanks Robot - my new version (I had it written on Monday) does use page flipping and I was unaware that FB supported bitshifting, as I remember Seb had some major issues with bitshifting in QB.

I honestly am not sure as to what I am going to make of it. Mostly I plan of a RPG engine that can create a whole new game (well, almost) with just a loadmap(map2938.dat). It is going to be completely configureable from outside files. I once read a tutorial that stated you only have to make 1 engine...

My very first p*p scroller.

This is the very first engine I ever made, in QB/QBASIC or FreeBASIC, that uses p*p scrolling. I must say, I am very proud. The code is short, sweet, and too the point, but most of all -- organized. A very good learning source (although it is currently uncommented). This zip contains source code, .b...

When you've been hanging around the linux/open-source community a lot, source can only mean one thing

Looking for a little something to program

I am NOT good at managing large programs, but I want a small program that I can add on to. I need an idea! Anything, stupid and useless or dreadfully useful. A game... anything. I need *something* to do this summer!

I'd say the walk-in closet would be the best, but you'd have to put a light that is controlled on the inside in there (duct tape = easy).

Pete is very busy - college classes, TV productions, his job(s?), and his personal life.

I am sure he is working very hard, but you need to give the man some time.

I do not agree. A colored box, actually, does make it easier on my eyes to raed the code, whether or not it is indented... I didn't want to start a fight, it's just a good habit to get into. It also helps me know when it's code...

You know, I would like a history of the qmunity too. As I type this, I feel like I'm 9 again, first learning QBASiC, unaware of the qmunity. There are sooo many things that I want to know. What happened to WisdomDude? How was his relation with Pete? What made Relsoft so famous. Was it RelLib, or oth...
