So I've been playing around with RSS feeds from all of my sites, and it's amazing what kinds of things you can do with it! I used Yahoo's awesome free application Yahoo! Pipes to create a "PETE'S MEGA FEED" that consolidates all of the RSS updates from all of my many websites. http://pipes...

Thanks, I just deleted beeryoni's account.

The funny thing is, I think it was a human spammer, since the posts were pretty customized to the context of the topics beeryoni was posting in. And he was promoting some random horse website...

Oh, and getting it to validate was a bitch, by the way. RSS/XML is so god damn picky.

RSS feed of front page news

I just made an RSS feed of the most recent ten entries on the front page of this site: http://petesqbsite.com/coranto/RSS/petesqbsite_news_feed.php You might be interested if you use an RSS reader, or for any reason want to syndicate this site's news somewhere else. Note: All of the links go directl...

Whooo, I almost screwed up this site BIG TIME by overwriting the database with a really old version from 2004... luckily I had a backup from a year ago and I haven't added too much except for a few news posts since then!

I'm done...for now.

Let me know if anything's broken! (Well, actually a lot of the stuff that uses Coranto.cgi is left intentionally broken to prevent spam, but that's a different matter entirely!)

Doing some maintenance...

Hey guys, I'm gonna be doing some maintenance on this site over the next few hours (specifically re-arranging the file structure on my server to support multiple websites)...so things might not work for a little while. If you notice that anything is broken over the next few days or weeks, let me kno...

Scientology protest in Hollywood

If you guys have been paying attention to the news the past few days, you've probably seen a lot of stuff about the group "Anonymous" doing a worldwide protest of Scientology yesterday. Well, some friends and I joined the protest Hollywood -- which attracted HUNDREDS of people (I personall...

I've almost finished a new tutorial for #27. Should I send it in a zip file with the source code or should I throw in the source code into the document? [edit] Finished. :D It's up to you... usually if it's just a short bit of source code (half a page or so), I would say put it right in the documen...

Don't worry, my site will be up forever...it's just a question of whether I will continue to update it.

Let the magazine die from lack of interest. If there are not enough contributions, wait until there are. There should not be a set schedule if the interest is not there anymore and then you can make a decision that way. At least you cannot be blamed for killing it. You will know that you did the be...

Well, the feedback on FB.net wasn't the main reason...the main reason is I'm not really that interested in QB/FB anymore. If I really were into programming still, I'd probably update this site all the time and be an active member of the community. I continue to run this site and release QBE out of l...

QB Express once again emerges from the dead...

No, QB Express is not dead! I'm *finally* putting together issue #26 of QB Express after many months of delays. I apologize that it took so long. I got discouraged back in November by the lack of submissions and the flame wars that went on about QBE on the Freebasic.net forums, and abandoned the pro...

Serious question: if users are still using versions <= 0.16, what would it take to get them to try newer versions? I think it's a backwards compatibility issue. People don't want to have to edit or add more lines of code to get their programs to work with a new version, when they work fine with the...

Just post in either the QBasic or Freebasic questions forums.

I hate sites that have tons and tons of subforums when there aren't enough posters to make them necessary!

Hey Nodtveidt -- what is Penn saying in your avatar?

It looks to me like "Shut the fork up!" but I thought I'd ask rather than assume, heheh.
