If I'm the King of Flamers, then you must be the King of Whiners.

I'll be whatever I want to be and I'll use whatever avatar I want to use. And if you don't like it, then do us all a a favor and pollute someone else's forum. No one here will miss you.

Note that it's highly unlikely that you would even need to download opengl.dll. Video cards come with opengl drivers already...that is, if your card was made within the last 10 years or so. :D Don't forget that FB has gone through a ton of changes since that issue. A TON. Most things broke between 0...

He just says random mean stuff. He's a bitter kid with a lot of teen angst that he feels he needs to take out on everybody. He's also a fanboy and a zealot, not to mention an extremist. In other words...he's a troll. Feel free to ignore his incomprehensible ranting and raving.

I never stated creating a new library object. In this context, the word "library" refers to a collection of general purpose functions. Or, in this case, a single function. Of course, if you want to argue semantics, feel free to argue with yourself.

What you posted would be considered a library, especially since it requires QB's utility library.

By the way, I'm already married. This is my wife.

Okay, I'll try... Alright, in the source for your library, the QB editor will, as with any other QB program, create the DECLAREs for each SUB or FUNCTION you make. What you do is copy these DECLARE lines to a new file with the .BI extension. Then, in the program you're going to make that uses the li...

You use its routines the same way you'd use any ordinary SUB or FUNCTION.

You should be able to just "Make Library" on that code. EDIT: In fact, I just tried it out and it built the library just fine. :D Now all you would have to do is create and '$INCLUDE a .bi for it that contains the DECLAREs, unless you want to put them at the top of the source code that's g...

Use your own bitmapped font routine, or use a library which already does it. There is no other way.

That's not an easy question to answer. You should know that generally, libraries contain only functions (SUB and FUNCTION in QB). If you're building a library with QB itself, you would simply have a project that contains a bunch of SUBs and FUNCTIONs that you don't want to have to copy over and over...

I've helped hundreds of people over the years without so much as a single thank you and I never gave a damn because it's all about the learning experience. roy: that's not quite true. You can set index 0 to be a different color, but that affects all the pixels of the "background" so that might not be what you want. Ultimately, what you probably would want to do is write your own text function if you want fancy text.

The two-argument form of COLOR doesn't work with SCREEN 13. You can only specify the foreground color.

Having a BIT variable type is a tremendously bad idea because it isn't the way the CPU works. The smallest amount of data you can directly access is the byte, and there is no way around this. In order for a BIT variable type to work, a full byte has to be used, leaving seven bits unused. This could ...
