Qontest 1 - Create a Crossword creator

Post by Sinuvoid »

Welcome to the first Qontest! (Mean't to be spelled that way) This is a contest for both newbies and experienced Qbasic programmers. Your first objective is the subject above. Post your programs in this thread and I will judge them.
Deadline - 1 week.

Goodluck to all! :D

He just says random mean stuff. He's a bitter kid with a lot of teen angst that he feels he needs to take out on everybody. He's also a fanboy and a zealot, not to mention an extremist. In other words...he's a troll. Feel free to ignore his incomprehensible ranting and raving.

it's a conquest contest... I'd have to say I've seen a program once which was capable of doing that... I might give it a try.

Lee, from what I have seen, you should be the LAST person to run a contest of any kind. You barely know how to do anything now!

To make a contest, you should already have your code close to done first. And who really would do it anyhow? I certainly do not need to make one. I don't have time to make games......... And I am not a 12 year old like Nod.

I have coding experience ted. I've already created a 2 databases and a mini game already. Most of my problems are related around converting stuff and screen problems. I am currently working on a valid credit card number generator for a bank program I'm working on. I'd say that's pretty good for an intermediate :P

OK, I believe you, but what you are asking for is by no means easy. You would still have to choose the words and clues. Then you would have to set the boxes and blanks up with numbers in them.

You would probably be better off making one on a grid paper and entering the data. Having the program do it automatically would be a program in itself!

By all means, give it a try. The best screen would only allow 30 X 80
boxes also in SCREEN 12. 60 rows would be hard to read.

LOL. You guys all make this place so much fun. I've been reading too much of the freebasic forums lately and was actually getting depressed, but this still feels like a place you can come and just be crazy.
