Hello, all! I can't believe there's a QBasic community here, still alive and kickin!

I've dabbled with BASIC on and off for more than 20 years and just figured no one messed with it anymore. Even tried to make an RPG once (it's playable, but you run out of things to do in about 10 minutes).

Just wanted to say that I'm going to enjoy digging thru the threads and tuts and downloads.. wow

wow!

Welcome aboard :-).

Always glad to see new members appear like you just did, hope you like it here. and yes, Pete's site is really the Walmart of QB websites. Whatever QB (or freebasic, or other languages too) you need, he's got it ;-).

thanks everyone.

lachie, i poked around in freebasic and i think you might be on to something. I'm currently working on a few QuickBASIC projects right now, but I think in the future I want to give FB a try. The relaxed memory limitiations are particularly appealing to me. I'm always getting the "Out of string space" and "Out of memory" errors when my projects get too big in QB. I'm looking forward to making that a thing of the past. I also read that FB is excellent for programming games, which is pimarily what I do. ;)
