I recently picked up a navy blue 98 EA model Ford Falcon with a manual transmission after getting rid of my ancient Datsun Bluebird. It's running really well, for a ford. I'm going to have to get to get new tyres though, as it's winter here in OZ, and the car has been slipping in the wet.

So, I am wondering what kind of cars the rest of you drive when you aren't programming?

I drive a Ford Corsair, manual.

Um... a 1994 Buick Skylark that I got from my grandparents.

Lamest. Car. Ever.

You got to admit it is a nice looking car....

I have a 1983 Chevy Celebrity (awesome car!!)
20 mpg in the city
30 mpg on the highway

2.8 liter V6
Solid axel rear suspension
Rust every ware


And it's great exept the carburator keeps flooding but there's and easy fix to that!

HOW TO START A 1983 CHEVY CELEBRITY WITH A FLOODED CARBURATOR:

1. Open the hood.
2. Take off the air filter assembly
3. Put a pencil in the flaps
4. Turn the key
5. The car should start, if not repeat all steps.
6. Take the pencil out.
7. You should see a white smoke for a few minutes.
8. Put the airfilter back on.
9. Drive away.

I'd love to have a Buick. As it is I'm stuck with an '89 Ford Escort that probably only has a few thousand miles left in it. Bad news because I drive a couple thousand a month on average. Can't complain about the gas mileage, I just recently got 220 miles on a little less than 6 gallons.

I drive a 21 speed black bike and a GEAR GAUGE!!! And soon I will be adding a speed gauge. I also put on a can with duct tape as a water bottle holder.

We have 4 cars, one for each family member to go to school and work.

I mostly drive the 1988 Chrysler Volare 4 door. It's a pretty austere car, but the dealer added air conditioning which is nice. Bought it new. It's got a 2.2 liter 4 cylinder engine which is pretty peppy with the 5 speed trans. It's a very reliable old beast.

I also drive my wife's 1996 Buick Century. We bought it in 2000 from a relative. I vowed I would never again buy a luxury car used. I made an exception, and I'm really sorry. Everything you can think of has gone wrong. The electric antenna stopped working. The little shock absorber that keeps the hood open, just died. The alarm system is a regular nightmare. I hate the ABS braking system. The elevators for the electric windows had to be rebuilt. Have you ever heard of the cable that pops the hood breaking? Well this one broke twice. You never know from day to day what's gonna go wrong. It's a good thing we hardly ever take the car out of town.

Other than all that, it's a nice car when everything is working. Electric everything, a/c, stereo & CD, leather seats, plenty of power 3.1 liter V6.
It's got about 50,000 miles on it, and thank God we haven't had any major engine repairs.

My daughter drives a 1997 Chevy. The thing rides like a buckboard, but she likes it 'cause it's easy to find a parking spot.

My son drives a 1991 Dodge Spirit, fully loaded, 2.5 liter 4 cylinder with Turbo. Great car. Used to be my car. After we had to have the engine rebuilt, it's not so hot anymore. But, he likes it. He's a very careful driver.

For me, cars are only for driving from point a to point b.
Well...driving between those points with porche 911 would be fun

THE GREATEST CAR EVER:
I pick the 1955 Mercedes Benz 300SL gullwing. The only production car that you were able to drive right off the showroom floor and onto the track at Le Mans, and win!.

THE GREATEST CAR I EVER HAD:
My first new car, the 1969 Mercury Montego, 351 Cleveland V8 engine. With 130,000 miles on the original engine, I could take it up to 125 MPH with no problems.

THE CAR THAT I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE NOW:
This is a tough question because I can't afford what I like. However, if money were no object, I'd like a new Cadillac STS with the 320hp Northstar V8.

Sweet choice,.. I once played that on GT4 The Real Racing Simulater.. I was shocked how fast and well it handled stock.. It only took half a lap for me to warm up to it and find its groove... ^_^

But, I'd say mine as the Lamborghini Countach 5000S, that was pure speed and beauty,... I like wanted that car since I was 5years old.. and still wouldn't mind it in my driveway in the future.. But I have to live with a huge poster of it above my dresser atm..
