Ummm....Rattra its I don't consider it a language because its nothing more than a markup language or what you would call a style/font/tabulate language which is no language. It's something to make something look pretty. Where are the variables? arrays? functions?etc. etc. etc.

No seriously, I taught myself HTML in only 8 hours! Now Javascript is a language....

Z!re I was just kidding that probaly took a lot of time and didn't mean to insult it. Oh yeah, I would want to do something like that.

The L in HTML means "language". Considering it "programming" is different though. It's certainly not procedural programming by any means, but it's more than just writing up a document in MS Word. To that effect, it's programming, but at a much lower level.

I agree but a MUCH LOWER LEVEL.
BTW: HTML stands for (If memory serves), HyperText Markup Language

But when I write up something on MS Word I don't call it programming. And since HTML is along the same level as MS Word, why start calling it programming there. Its not programming. Its a program. Its just not as user-friendly as MS Word.

BTW anyone realize that were talking about HTML and not QB again? He, he, go figure, we have short attention spands.

Some people who have no balls prefer to make webpages in MS Word. I call them cowards. :D Others prefer to write HTML code in Notepad or another editor. I call them webpage programmers. :D See the difference? :)

I do it in an editor that is like notepad, you write all the code yourself, but you can see the result by not even having to put it online, yet!

Oh, yeah Frontpage sucks...
It puts in too many unnecessary HTML tags.

Mind you that I still don't consider HTML a programming language, so webpage programming is ONLY programming when you include javascript, or another scripting language. Javascript is a C and HTML hybrid, it has C based programming, but HTML tags that are the Standard Objects, or what we call DOM.

In which way is HTML not script programming?

When you produce a sequence of letters/words/bytes that make a computer/machine perform a given task. You have programmed it.

HTML is no more or less programming than ASM.
In the meaning of the word that is.

Ofcourse, different types of programming languages/methods require different amount of knowledge, HTML being one of the easier :P

Yeah, I found a online tut, I'm going to rewrite my web site with HTML, and put it on my FTP space,. notepad doesn't take up 20megs as fast as AOL's auto HTML editor thing..

PS: If you got windows, and your using NotePad,. save a copy under "Filename.html" and put in any folder you want. Use Enternet Explorer and switch it to search you hard drive,. you can see your site b4 you put it online. :D  I tried this bout a few hours ago, work right well, corse I've havn't tried with images yet..

 < Hehe, that emoticon, so weird, but so funny.

 Umm Mitth... Have you ever used RPG Maker II?? I has it's own language in it, you have to program it to get it to do things, otherwise, you have no RPG,.. And trust me, that lil built in language can get right advance.

Ummm...I wasn't meaning to imply that it was in...
The fact that I said whether he thought RPG Maker II OR MS Word as programming was ment as which he considers a language.

I consider RPG Maker II a language, but not Word therefore not HTML.

That was my point.

Oh, yeah LOL  . Were up to, lets see... ...131 posts AND 7 pages!!!! Wow, Thats a record, I wonder how many pages per thread this forum can handle? He, He....*Mit's face has an evil look* !

To program = To make an object perform a certain task.

You can program a human, or a dog, or a car, or a computer, or a tree...
etc...

So, in the meaning of the word, you can program in MS Word, provided you make the computer perform a given task (and not just displaying letters, because that is not you, that would be MS Word itself)

And dont bother, there's no limit on number of pages, it's just an increasing counter, I'd say it's set to 3 or 4 digits, meaning 999 or 9999 pages max.
I have left this dump.

Ummm...Z!re all you do in HTML is what you do in Word...Just you write down the code, and not click buttons, which write it for you...Also word has a simmular DOM to IE.

Oh there's a limit to how much memory this site can hold....If its unlimited, then there's always how much memory the internet can hold before it CRASHES! He, he, he :D . But I'll think we will either die before then or get the pages above a 10000. So lets see, were at 7 right? only 9993 pages to go!

Ok, so I dont code then, I just write letters, I don't actually induce the current into the CPU. Silly me.

Mitth, just look up the damn word "Programming", trust me, HTML is programming, or actually, scripting, if you want to be picky.
