New BASIC website

Post by bongomeno »

I just created this website.

It's the new home of my BASIC programming languages.

I have added sections for Quick Basic, QB64, Free Basic, and RapidQ to my forum.

Hope to see you there. 8)

Awesome! I really dig the name.
I added your link to my site's link page. (Let me know if you want me to take it off for whatever reason)

Thank you for sharing my site on your classic site. It means a lot.
I added a link to your site in mine as well.
Your BASIC in COBOL looks awesome.

Thanks for adding me as well! :)

I wish I had the drive to fully finish the COBOL QB interpreter... it actually works shockingly well for text based applications in its current state. I sort of wrote it in defense to those who say COBOL is an un-learnable/bad language. It really isn't and it actually has a lot in common with BASIC at least syntax wise. The hardest part of COBOL is a combination of the architecture of the legacy systems they operate in and the years of spaghetti code/bug fixes that have been applied over the years. Those things exist in most legacy systems that are decades old regardless of programming language.

Anyway, let me step off my soap box now and go back to working on my current projects in another language that gets more hate than it deserves (Perl). *Dodges shoes being thrown*

Oh! one last thing, bongomeno, I noticed your avatar is an Atari logo.

My BBS server I'm writing should have Atari 8 bit support completed in the next release. It's mostly done and I've tested it locally with my Atari 800XL computer but haven't deployed it yet.

Anyway, not sure if you have an Atari 8-bit computer & a Fujinet, but if so, I'll let you know once Atari support is added if you want to give it a try.
