17 Telltale Signs You Need A New Computer

I still have my Dell 98. I'd still have the 3.1 PC too if my wife had not tossed it. Sometimes I miss DOS.

I don't miss DOS, I still have it, and I still have "this", the floppy drive,..2 of them in fact, 1 portable, that can plug into the USB,..hardly ever use them, but still have them.
Pretty funny, though , I like the "mobile" and portable devices,,,guess I need a new computer, though...

One thing though, when I looked at the link, I also imediately got a warning, telling me it (the site), was trying to access my computer, and when that occurs, I can say yes, allow it, then I also have to enter a password, well when ever I get that, of course, I say "NO" ,..however I was still able to view the site,..some of the "worst" sites, when I select "NO",

and don't allow the acesss, in turn they don't let me view anything,..but if they are that "bad" I don't want to see what they have anyway,...
I saw your problems with cloning the old HD, on to a new one, ...but not sure what to say that could help,... when I did install a new HD, and it was WD, too, I did not try to "clone" the old one, I just started from scratch, in fact, I used the "floppy" drive, to boot, with dos, and formatted it with DOS first, setup my partitions, then installed windows, ( that was before I started using Linux),..but anyway, good luck on that,..

I did not get any warnings about the site. You must have something in your settings. I gather that is Linus.

So far the cloned hard drive is working identical to the old one. It is 250 Gig so it should last. My old ones were 70 G and 40 G so I have a lot more space.
I use this computer more because it runs QB so I can check for QB64 incompatibilities.

I gather that is Linus.
Yes, it is, it is no big deal, it is related to if I want to log in, on a site I am registered to, or for example, also when I go to my e-mail, But when I get it from a site that I am not even registered to, it is significant, that the site is asking the computer for passwords, or log in, info,...or something,.. anyway, when it is a site I am not sure about or famliar with, I select "NO",.. it is part of what makes it where, there is no need for "anti virus" with linux,..however, it can also be annoying, just like when you get "false positives" or the "firewall",..blocks something, but you know it is safe,...

Perhaps the site is just used to me or I am logged in for life. That link came from a newsletter I get. I used to post interesting article links at QB64.

That explains

I just noticed too, now when I go back to the site, I no longer get any warning,..
I bet if I had selected "yes", I would have gotten the "form", to register, and submit my e-mail address,..so then I would start getting the news letters,..But anyway, the fact that they do not try to "force" you to join, or register, is a "plus",.. the sites that are "traps", will do that, try to make you join, and once they do get your e-mail adress, if they do, the "spam" starts rolling in,
Some of the "article links" are interesting, but of course , that always depends too on the "reader", what interests me, might not interest someone else,..
My X wife, from years ago, (not my current wife),.. used to "subscribe" to all kinds of stuff like that, and she enjoyed reading all of it, including the "spam" or advertisements, that she got in he e-mail,.. Also the "snail mail", she would join, or enter every "contest" offer that came, ... we used to get so much "junk mail",..it was really hard to "spot", any mail that was important, it would take half an hour, to go thru it all carefully,...oops, I am really drifting off topic,... but I am remembering that,.. boy I am still glad I got rid of her, and all that "junk mail",..
