Here's the latest report on laptop reliability with stability over 5. Note that
Snip App left capture on picture:
AVG wanted a reboot for some reason and it did not shut down properly for another performance hit.
The
4G Ubee Stick and
3G/4G LTE Franklin 700 Stick each worked well, with no connection problems!
Never used any WIFI the entire time away, although I did have my Windows Phone also.
Tablet mode can be activated from the bottom menu in the Action Center on right:
The Start Menu app tiles are placed on the desktop. I don't particularly like this mode myself.

Attempting to answer whether MS is snooping
Laptop Stability seems to stay around 5 with various apps crashing for no reason at all, most unnoticed:
Get Office app crashed so I uninstalled it as I never intend to use it anyhow!
Knowing Microsoft, I have the feeling that this app will be coming back again...
I was finally able to install
Canon's Camera Window program and have it install camera

Laptop stability continues to have problems, now even when some crashes go unreported:
Other supposed crashes occur when rebooting where you might expect a program to quit...
Bluetooth OBEX Service quit on a reboot for a cumulative Windows 10 update not even mentioned above.
Most App crashes are not even noticeable as most restart automatically. Cortana quits even when not used!

I finally had enough from the AVG anti-virus with constant reboot requests so I removed it::
In Windows 10, Windows Defender looks a lot like Microsoft Security Essentials...except for the icon.
Windows 10 automatically started it and the application immediately needed to be updated and run.
It allows a quick or full scan in the options just like MSE did. However it is said to be superior.
AVG kept asking to reboot, updated twice and came up a few times in Reliability:
After the uninstall reboot the computer stopped reacting to button clicks so I forced a reboot again!

The Twitter update failed while it was running. After it closed, it reinstalled when clicked on to restart.

For Win10 users, app updates are important
Last week, Microsoft had a major Win10-update faux-pas; it prechecked the update offer on many PCs. Fred Langa reports that this showed up on several of his systems. The new OS wasn’t automatically installed on his PCs, but it did download the approximately 3GB Win10 Update file. And according to an Ars Technica article, the upgrade did start on some machines.

Since yesterday, the
Chrome browser has started rendering email and web pages with overlapping images:
This is part of the previous post rendered today. Refreshing the page usually removes those images.
Here's another email from Gmail that shows the mail list as a background to an HBO GO ad:
The mail list page is split with the left part on the right side too...HBO email listed near top.
Chrome is also not downloading files to the User's
Downloads folder as specified in Settings.
It is now downloading stuff to my newest monthly
Pictures folder after it was used recently.

Sleep on its own after a half hour ignored. Sleep works better now than on XP, but it is still not perfect.
App failures continue to be a constant problem, but most times I never notice them until I go to view
them or use them. Can't wait for more apps from Android that most likely won't come till next year...

Sunday I got a laptop notification to SCAN the computer Saturday:
Windows Defender reports the last scan was a Quick Scan yesterday at 12:27 PM...
Decided to do a Full Scan today to make sure!
Clicking on the notification opens Security and Maintenance Settings, but no required action was shown.
Also the
Start and
Actiion Center task bar buttons can be slow or take repeated clicks
to react. Notification bars may also be hard to get to open corresponding Apps.

Reliability has been better since the last reboot 8 days ago, but
Facebook app still crashed 3 times:
Twitter app crashed just once so far this week. So far FB has not needed a sign in and works better!
Laptop speed also has not lagged much after days of running since removing
AVG antivirus.
Cortana is set to open when I say "Hey Cortana", but it needs a silent TV to work right. Remembers my name!
Start and
Action Center task bar buttons are still slow to react to clicks.

After 8 days of the laptop running, a major app failure event appears to happen on a reboot:
I tried to view the MS
Camera app and things were lagging, so I decided to reboot.
After the reboot the Camera app worked better, but was still hard to minimize or close!
The
Logitech Webcam application worked better and had more options.
Apparently an Update was also waiting and it took a while to update and reboot.
All of the app failures seemed to have been recorded then, when you expect them to close!
The MS
Photos picture app renders pictures to Edit, Rotate. etc. when a picture is clicked on:
The app tile is located below the Camera app in my re-organized Start Menu.
After finally realizing that the
Play Memories application was not rendering them, I removed it!
My
Printkey 32 bit application no longer takes desktop pictures with the
Print Scrn key!
I was able to set
F10 to take pictures of the desktop in Options, but no rectangle editing.
I finally figured out how to use it with
F11 and had to change the default folder from
AppData
which somehow became the default when I changed the keys...

Windows 10 fans will lose their (User)Voice in a fortnight

Microsoft Admits Windows 10 Automatic Spying Cannot Be Stopped
The good news: even if Belfiore states you cannot switch off everything, editing your privacy settings will disable the worst of these. To find them open the Start menu > Settings > Privacy.
The bad news: despite Belfiore’s pledge “to continue to listen”, Microsoft’s actions (including the impending Windows 7 and Windows 8 upgrade pressure) suggests the company’s recent love for Big Brother tactics is only going to get worse before it gets better…

My WIFI settings needed attention in the Action Center on my 64 bit Windows 10 upgrade after last Update Sunday:
My
Facebook app needed the email and password AGAIN on the settings page so I entered them and took a
Snip
picture. When I saved it to
Pictures it said I did not have PERMISSION! One of the listed USERS was not allowed
Full Acess so I tried to Edit it and then things got CRAZY! Picture names came up as DENIED one after another!
Then the Properties boxes and FROZE everything and blacked out the Snip app!
Had to reboot to clear them!
The complaints about
Pictures and Saving anything mount up!

Microsoft reneges on FREE One Drive space in the name of productivity and collaboration...
Apparently they don't need that much space!
OneDrive storage plans change in pursuit of productivity and collaboration
We’re no longer planning to offer unlimited storage to Office 365 Home, Personal, or University subscribers. Starting now, those subscriptions will include 1 TB of OneDrive storage.
100 GB and 200 GB paid plans are going away as an option for new users and will be replaced with a 50 GB plan for $1.99 per month in early 2016.
Free OneDrive storage will decrease from 15 GB to 5 GB for all users, current and new. The 15 GB camera roll storage bonus will also be discontinued. These changes will start rolling out in early 2016.

Updating Android devices on Windows 10:
1) My Nexus 7 tablet came up with problems when a ! sign was displayed next to it in Device Manager:
Right clicking Update drivers and Searching for Drivers on the Web did not find anything either!
2) So I Searched Google for "nexus 7 drivers windows 10" and found this download:
latest_usb_driver_windows
I downloaded and unzipped it to the folder above. In Device Manager, Update Driver and Browse my computer and used the path to Downloads:
Downloads\latest_usb_driver_windows\usb_driver folder. Do not chose the i386 or amd64 folders. Windows will use
android_winusb setup!
Now my Nexus 7 not only shows up, but it has its own

What’s New in Windows 10’s First Big Update (Which Arrives Today)
The first big update to Windows 10, which should be arriving today via Windows Update, fixes a lot of problems with Windows 10. Microsoft is streamlining activation, restoring colored window title bars, integrating Skype, and improving the Edge browser. But they’ve also added advertisements to the Start menu.
Microsoft releases a Windows 10 'November update' with a smarter Cortana and more
*If already running Windows 10, you will receive the November update according to your Windows Update settings. If you’re running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, you can take advantage of the free upgrade offer and receive the November update as part of your Windows 10 upgrade.
Windows Defender has been updated DAILY on my laptop for the last 21 days successfully withe the same KB number KB2267602 sometimes twice daily. Version numbers are different, but that seems like a bunch to me.
Facebook app quit over 12 times yesterday and continued closing today! Now using Chrome browser to view.

STRANGE! Almost every time I go to Windows 10 Update settings to search for an update, I get this:
I'm getting tired of checking the Definition numbers...24 days running on Defender updates on its own too!
Windows Defender was updated 3 times in one day with different Definitions as shown below:
The lower stability curve is due to the Facebook app continuously crashing one day.
STRANGER! Not sure how I set this up, but saying I added these files TOMORROW or LATER THIS WEEK?
Naturally I added them just now right? The files listed for today were added two days ago...
Apparently there are two right click settings. Sort by and Group by. Group by Date Modified seems to
need refreshed by redoing it to catch up. Can't wait for Threshold 2!

STILL waiting to get the Threshold Update...
Windows 10 Threshold upgrade woes include deleted apps, system hangs
If it's been less than 31 days since you upgraded to Windows 10, you won't get the November update right away; this will allow you to go back to your previous version of Windows if you choose. After the 31 days have passed, your PC will automatically download the November update.
If the setting to defer upgrades is turned on, you may not get the update immediately. To make sure this setting is off, select the Start button, then select Settings > Update & security > Windows Update > Advanced options, and clear the checkbox for Defer upgrades.
If you uninstalled the November update from your PC, you won't be able to install it again from Windows Update. Instead, you'll need to go to the Microsoft software download website and select Upgrade now to upgrade your PC to Windows 10 Version 1511, which includes the November update.

Permissions again! Cannot
Save image as from Twitter with any name but the weird one it already has:
I can change the name AFTER it is placed in
Downloads folder however. Then I can view it too.
The
Downloads folder has 3 administrators, all with full permissions. UGH!
Special permissions cannot be checked by any method that I could find! Just plain STUPID!
Facebook app closed 4 times in last 7days, one twice in a day, using it little!
Twitter app has closed 2 times in last 7 days, using it all of the time .

The good news is you can disable the NEW Connected User Experiences and Telemetry Service the same way as DiagTrack:
1) Hold down the Windows key and tap the R key to run a program.
2) In the box that opens type ‘services.msc’ and press the Enter key
3) In the ‘Services (Local)’ section locate ‘Connected User Experiences and Telemetry’ and double-click it
4) In the ‘Service status’ section click ‘Stop’
5) Under the ‘Startup type’ drop down menu select ‘Disabled’ and then confirm this and close the window by clicking ‘OK’
Note: it is advisable to disable NOT delete the service. Deleting it can cause problems
Personally, I don't mind Microsoft snooping to make the OS better. After all, for consumers the OS is FREE!
What I do mind is them returning my options to their liking and reverting users to their new Edge browser.
WHEN will this stupid browser war be done? Besides when I use a MS app, Chrome goes to Bing links already.
Still waiting for Threshold 2 on 32 and 64 bit Win 10 machines...
