i've only read a few books(for fun).

-Harry Potter(all)
-Ender's Game(I think I read three in the series, dont remember which ones tho)
-Lord of the Rings: The hobbit Prequel. Kinda boring...But the movies rocked tho

Why do people dislike Harry Potter books? It's got an interesting plot line, Rowling presents a great unique idea and her novels truly show her creativity. People think cause there's magic and no violence that it's childish and therefore it's stupid  (and this wasn't directed at you mitth, tho I would like to here your reasoning on why you cant stand harry potter :) )

Douglas Adams vs Terry Pratchett

i dont know how many books adams has written but i know pratchett has more than 20. maybe 30. i do find adams to be funny, but his humor seems set up, squeezed out rather than natural. hes great at those little non-sequiters and so is terry pratchett. but pratchett's humor depends more on his characters, not the situation.
and frankly, pratchetts stories are better.
final judgement:
pratchett 9
adams 7
jordan 10
(out of 10)
