Spamming Today -- Site Database Corrupted
Posted: Fri Aug 12, 2005 9:44 pm
There was a rapid-fire string of Texas Hold'Em Poker spam posts today that corrupted this site's Coranto database which controls almost all of the content on the site.
I was forced to revert to the latest backup of the database: August 6th. All submissions made in the last week have been lost, and you will have to resubmit them. Sorry for the inconvenience.
These spam posts come at regular intervals and are nothing new, but this is the first time that the database has been corrupted by them. I'm going to look into installing some type of image confirmation test for new News posts. I will also be making backups of the database at shorter intervals so that if something like this happens again, we won't lose as many submissions.
