The King's Crown
First Impression Aahhh, one of those games that all of us made when we were newbies. I made quite a few text adventures, and I'm sure other people have too. This one is one of those text adventures where instead of typing in something like 'WALK NORTH', you choose from a menu of actions that you can do. You have to select the correct action, or you usually die. These text adventures are shorter, but are also funner, because they don't get boring like the other kind.
What It's Like In every 'room' or 'stop', you are presented with a menu of two or more choices. One is correct, the other isn't. You must choose the right one, or you die. You do this until you beat the game. It's one of those games where you play until you die, and memorize part of the level, and then slowly get farther and farther, remembering more and more until you win.
Other things you should know Uh... I can't really think of anything else to put here. Try it out!

The rating
Graphics Simple graphics are here and there. They are BAD, but this is a text adventure, which isn't supposed to have graphics. Each screen is surrounded with a simple one pixel width green border, and there is a simple face on the title screen. That's about it.

Sound No sound.

Flexibility/Features This game doesn't have meny features or extras, but it has enough to satisfy me. You're given reading material before you start playing the game, and there are other sections, like a dedication section on the main menu. Also, there is colored text to keep you from getting lost when you're playing the game. Despite the cheesy plot, this did have work put in to it.

Gameplay/Control Just selecting from menus with the numbers and pressing keys when it says 'press any key to continue'.

Overall Impression This game doesn't look too glamorous. In fact, it looks ugly. It's got a dumb story, and the 'room' descriptions aren't the best, but overall, it's a nice game. A game doesn't have to look good to be fun, and this is one of those games. If games had to have great graphics and sound, the NES and Atari 2600 would have never have existed.
