Lost 2 v1.1
First Impression The_Specialest sent this to me in February...now it's April. Heh. Well, I'll review it and post it. Now to check it out! Oh, another ascii RPG. I hope it has some cool features!
What It's Like You're a smily face in a screen 13 world of other ascii characters. You must finish the RPG. It seems more like a text adventure, but it has graphics and menus and stuff.
Other things you should know Many neat things, like mouse implementation, .gif loader, a menu system that lets you combine items into one, and other neat features! There is also a guy named 'Pete the Pyro'! Also, there is a walkthrough of the game included in a text file.

Graphics Ascii characters. They're all the same. You use a smily face to be your character, and other letters and shapes to be the world graphics. There are also really bad 'real' graphics too, but you can tell what everything is. Despite the junky graphics, there are pretty funny animated cutscenes which bring the score up from a 2 to a...

Sound One sound blaster sound clip that is very good that plays when something good happens. (You find an item, or use it right or something.) The sound is good, but there isn;t enough, and the game is mostly soundless, so it's a little weird to have that sound come out of nowhere.

Plot/Story Very funny in some places, with everything from pyros to ice vendors. This RPG has a text adventure-like story, where you have to collect things, do things to them and use them to get other things, but it has graphics. The story is short and a little hard to figure out, but the walkthrough provides much help!

Gameplay/Control Kind of simple once you get the hang of it. Arrow keys make you move, like in every game ever made, 't' makes you talk to someone you are next to, 'i' lets you access your inventory and use and alter your items, and 'g' lets you get or pick up things you find. From these menus, you either press a key that is specified to do something, or in the talking engine's case, click on the thing you want to say.

Overall Impression It's a fun game, with funny cut scenes and dialog. The graphics are horrible, but the cut scenes are good. The story is simple and based on getting and using items, and the gameplay is a bit hard to figure out at first, but the game is kind of fun. If a full version is ever released, I'll check it out.
