Bush Tries to Veto
Ammendments
May 12, 2001- United States President George W.
Bush attempted to veto two Constitutional Ammendments today,
Ammendment 3 and 26. He notified Congress early today with his request
to remove them from the Constitution.
"I never approved of these
Ammendments," Bush said. "If I had known they existed, I would have
done this sooner."
Members of Congress admit that they were
confused. "When I heard about it, I was like, 'What the
heck?'," said Senator John Edwards. "The President can't
do that."
When Bush's advisors explained the law-making
process to him, he reportedly denied that he had tried to veto the
ammendments.
